Unreal Automation Engineer

Engineering - San Diego, CA - Full Time

Intrepid Studios is looking for a detail oriented Unreal Automation Engineer with a proven track record of delivering superior results, and who will have the direct responsibility for creating and maintaining tools and processes needed to ship high-quality, low-defect MMO game systems, from backend servers to end-user game clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating Bots and Functional tests in an Unreal environment
  • Develop and maintain testing tools, test automation tools, and test reporting tools
  • Develop and maintain integrations with development systems
  • Advise and guide engineering on designing and developing testable systems
  • Gather cross departmental requirements to create effective tests
  • Analyze development processes and offer strategies for reducing development defects as early as possible
  • Advise and guide the quality assurance team on effective testing strategies
  • Troubleshoot and triage test failures
  • Actively look for test coverage gaps and potential exploits
  • Effectively report testing results to stakeholders

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in automation engineering
  • 3+ years of Unreal Engine experience using C/C++
  • Expertise in automation processes and best practices
  • Expertise in modern scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience with game system architecture
  • Experience in statistical analysis
  • Experience in both Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with Unreal Engine Tools
  • Experience with Unreal automated testing tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

The Legal Bits:

We offer competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant annual bonus structure. The base salary for this role is between $125,000 - $187,500, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.
