Developer Support Engineer

Intrepid Studios is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Developer Support Engineer who is communicative, collaborative and attentive to details to join our ever growing team. In this role you will assist our engineering team to develop efficient workflows, troubleshoot issues and manage process improvements to drive projects to completion in a timely manner. We are seeking a candidate who is a strong communicator, organized and is passionate about gaming overall. This role will be based out of our San Diego office.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to engineering teams, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely solutions to ensure smooth development workflows.
• Act as the point person for support issues developers encounter during development.
• Develop and maintain tools, scripts, and utilities to streamline development processes and improve developer productivity.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvement within the development pipeline.
• Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail in all aspects of support and tool development.
• Author and update documentation in Confluence to ensure comprehensive technical resources for developers.
• Utilize source control systems, particularly Perforce, to manage codebase and ensure version control integrity.
• Provide support in various capacities, including troubleshooting, bug fixing, and assisting with deployments, as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and C#, with a solid understanding of software engineering principles.
• Experience with source control systems, preferably Perforce, including branching, merging, and conflict resolution.
• Knowledge of code review processes and tools, preferably Swarm, to ensure code quality and consistency.
• Experience with documentation authoring tools, such as Confluence, and a commitment to maintaining comprehensive technical documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with development environments such as Visual Studio and/or Rider.
• Experience with client/server architectures is important.

Plusses:

• Familiarity with Unreal Engine is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Python is a plus.
• Familiarity with WPF is a plus.
• Knowledge of containers, containerization, and kubernetes is a plus.
• Knowledge of continuous integration systems, such as Jenkins, is a plus.
• Experience in a support role is a plus.
• General knowledge in various areas of game development. 
• Experience with operating systems and pc hardware is a plus.

The Legal Bits:

We offer competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant annual bonus structure. The base salary for this role is between $98,000 - $137,200, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.
